Wandering Barefoot: Food & Tales
  1. Because I had so much fun during the Octoberfest dinner last Friday at the Marco Polo that until now I still dream of..

honest to goodness sausages with Sauerkraut (yes, I had to google the spelling)

Simple but terribly terrific Meat Loaf (in my main post, I wrote Ham because that’s what the chef said it was called, but it’s Meat Loaf pala)

Roasted potatoes and bread something balls. I didn’t eat rice in this meal, but I sure did stuff myself with lots of potato.

In my main post, I wrote about this Pork spread, in Germany its called Griebenschmalz. Sinfully good especially paired with bread. Read how it’s made here

Herring Fillets. At first glance they’re like our usual “kilawin”, taste it and you’ll know its totally different cause of the absence of Coco Milk and the pungent taste and odor of vinegar and Calamansi. In Germany, this dish is served with different kinds of sauces from Tomato to mushroom cream.

Sadly, Marco Polo’s Octoberfest 2012 ended yesterday but you shouldn’t miss out the next culinary journey of Cafe Marco.
