Last week, I flew to the big city for work and inserted about a day and a half to go around the city and meet up with a few friends. Although, I wasn’t able to meet most of the those I planned to see during my short working vacay in Manila, there were a few angels that saved me from spending my available time sleeping and getting comfy at the staff house (which isn’t really a bad idea too).

First stop was Bonifacio High Street, spent the afternoon sight seeing while waiting for Jonas to get back from church. I absolutely loved the place, the whole Bonifacio Global City! If I had tons of moolah, I’d definitely buy a pad in the area. Yes, it was my first time to go around and I love how its so clean and full of greens.

Had late snacks/early dinner at Italliani’s. Ordered lunch servings for the Shrimp Asparagus Alfredo, which for me was so-so. What I loved though was their Spinach-Artichoke Formaggio, tasted like the ones I tried at Cafe George. It was just heaven on a plate!

Before I went home, stopped by 7/11 for some tapa and for a big gulp of Lipton’s Red Iced Tea. The ultimate comfort food!

Had to start the day right. Had this for breakfast plus a slice of turkey meat, scrambled eggs and bread with butter and stawberry jam.

I was in Shangri-la Mall and was trying to find places were I could take a guest to lunch, I was screaming with excitement when I knew that there was BonChon inside the mall! Finally, I got to try it after months of thinking about it.

I ordered the combo ( 3 drumsticks and 3 wings) combining their two variants, Soy and Chili.
I was with Cattski and we both loved chicken plus we were excited to finally taste what the BonChon hype was all about.
The verdict? It was alright. They only serve drumsticks and chicken wings parts. The taste was better than the ordinary but not as good as what I heard it was.
The portions were quite small, I could eat the whole combo for myself.
The whole place was “fast food” type, no intimidating interiors whatsoever.
They do have meals that would cost about 120 up and they do serve side dishes like kimchi.
I flew to manila for a shoot and thank god it was a success! It’s great to work with young, talented people (and most of them are Cebuanos).

Dan, Hub, Chyna, Ada, Clarence, THE Annabelle Rama, moi, Mycke, Kryz and Andrea.
After a long but satisfying day at work, went home bringing along more comfort food aka 7/11 tapa and Lipton Red Iced Tea big gulp.
The next day was my free day, to be honest I was really excited to see friends and finally get to experience night life in Manila but someone bailed… sooo.. it kinda sucked a little but things like that happen.
My angel during that time was Ivan, a batch-mate when I was still in nursing school. He was nice enough to drive me around, super thankful that he was there!
I had to wait for him at Gateway mall but I think he got stuck in traffic, and I was already hungry when I decided to try out Dairy Queen’s blizzard.

It was beyond awesomeness that on my last day, I couldn’t resist getting another one. Wish they had this in Cebu. I first got their double dutch and on my second try had the butterfinger variant.
I asked Ivan to take me to a good hole in the wall restaurant that served good buffalo wings and burgers. He suggested Charlie’s Grind and Grill, so off we went and I was not let down.
We ordered their dozen buffalo wings in honey variant. I wanted to get their chili/spicy variant but mixing flavors weren’t allowed, so I had to get the non-spicy one because Ivan wasn’t a fan of anything spicy.

They served it with blue cheese dips with crispy carrots, celery and raddish (not sure) sticks. It was just heaven!

Gaaah… so orgasmic to look at! This one costs for about 300+ super sulit!
The wings were huge and tender! It was just beyond awesome!

Ordered their Angus Burgers which you can order with fries or without.

Charlie’s order counter. They serve chicken wings, burgers, salads, fish and chips, milkshakes and many more.

Opps thats Ivan’s head. hahaha It was really cute that a couple were doing their pre-nup shoot in the building, so they were lying on the floor and being so sweet to each other.
After going around, we ended up at Starbucks Eastwood.

Felt like I was in Macau with all the lights and the overwhelming restuarants in Eastwood.

Yey to love!!!

Thumbs up to Ivan!!! =) Next time, I’ll go to Manila over the weekend and you have to take me out clubbing with your team! Oh, let him know if you want to be guest-listed at the hottest clubs! TWEET HIM HERE!
Because I was a bit pissed with plans that didn’t push through that night, I went around eastwood and found this store that I feel in love with. It’s called Little Things that She Needs and they had shoes that fit my humongous feet! And because I needed retail therapy to help cool me down, I immediately bought a shoe and an accessory.

I am in love with the store! It’s like Forever 21 meets Accessorize!
Then I met up with Ate Ava and went to see her gig at 22nd Street in Antipolo.
Yes ladies and gents, on that day I was basically around Manila! haha

On my last day, I couldn’t go home without eating at Tokyo Tokyo.

#Pataygutom lang ang peg! LOL.
Went to Serendra for SONJA’S!

Then killed time at Jamba Juice

Ordered the Banana Berry with Energy Boost. Seriously, I had a hard time choosing which drink I should order.. anything that has bananas, apple and berries in it would definitely entice me!

So sad, discovered that my pretty sonja’s melted while I was waiting for my flight.

Here’s the box for my mom.
Hands down, Sonja’s has the best cupcakes, among all the other cupcakes I’ve ever tasted! A cupcake would range from 55Php -100Php. Favorites? Banana Cupcake, Cookies and Cream, Red Velvet and Raspberry.

Thanks to Tambis for allowing me to leave my stuff in her condo. haha what would I do without you? And to Jonas too. HIGH FIVE!
